It will take us to the natural wonders of the Falklands, South Georgia, South Orkney and the Antarctic Peninsula. In the endless ice landscape, you might be willing to believe that one is already on another planet, the real world seems so far away.
The absolute characters of Antarctica are the penguins. Of the seventeen penguin species that exist around the world, about half breed on the Antarctic Peninsula and offshore islands such as: King, Adelie, Macaroni, Gentoo and Chinstrap Penguin.
Elephant seals, sea lions, Wedell seals and leopard seals, as well as many species of seabirds such as albatrosses and skua, enrich the coast and boat excursions.
But also the underwater world of the Antarctic and in particular of South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula is unique: dense algae forests, steep walls and isolated landscapes characterize the underwater landscape. Starfish of all sizes, colors and shapes can be found, as well as strange-looking fish, crustaceans and nudibranchs.
Antarctica is an underwater photographers dream, not least for the chance to encounter large leopard seals or lively penguins here.
